4.78 Lakh children between the ages of 0 to 5 years will be given polio drops
Ludhiana (Deepak Sathi). A national pulse polio vaccination campaign will be conducted in the district from March 3 to 7, during which 4.78 lakh children aged 0 to 5 years will be administered pulse polio drops. Civil surgeon Dr. Jasbir Singh Aulakh shared the information, stating that concerted efforts have been made to ensure that every child between the ages of 0 and 5 years receives the polio vaccine. He mentioned that 1070 booths have been set up in the district, along with a total of 1535 door-to-door, 80 transit, and 98 mobile teams formed to achieve the target. These teams will operate under the supervision of 506 supervisors and will cover approximately 11.67 lakh houses. Dr. Aulakh has coordinated with the Education Department and other relevant departments to devise a strategy for carrying out this campaign. The Education Department officials have been urged to hold meetings regarding the polio campaign to educate parents about the importance of vaccination and ensure that every child receives the polio drops.
