Ludhiana, April 23 (Rajkumar Sathi) .With an aim to expedite development works and for resolving the issues being faced by public at ground level, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar held a meeting with the councillors falling under Zone A on Wednesday. Detailed discussions were held during the meeting regarding development works and what steps can be taken to facilitate the public at large. Further the concerned officials have been directed to ensure that there is no compromise in terms of development works. Councillors representing different political parties including Aman Bagga, Surinder Kaur Manna, Lakhwinder Chaudhary, Pallavi Vinayak, Shalu Dawar, Sangeeta Kaur, Poonam Ratra, Aradhna Atwal, Sham Sunder Malhotra, Pardeep Sharma, Monika Jaggi, Ratanjit Kaur, Kashmir Kaur, Jagdish Lal Disha, Neeraj Ahuja, Arun Sharma among others participated in the meeting.
The concerned officials of the civic body have been directed to check the attendance of the sweepers on a regular basis and organise camps in different parts of the city to facilitate the residents in submitting the dues. Deliberations were also held to establish street vending zones in different parts of the city to facilitate street vendors and streamline movement of traffic. Joint Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, Executive Engineer Parshotam Singh, Executive Engineer Harjit Singh, Executive Engineer Manjitinder Singh Johal, CSO Ashwani Sahota among other officials were present in the meeting. Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar said that a large number of development works worth crores are going on in the city and all the councillors falling in the areas under Zone A were invited to the meeting. Their focus is on overall development of the city and no area would be left behind in this course. They appealed to the councillors representing different political parties to work together for the betterment of the city at large. Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar further appealed to public to stop wastage or misuse of water and to support the authorities in keeping city clean and green.
Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur said that similar meetings would also be held in other zones of the city in the coming days.
