Ludhiana (Deepak Sathi).Indian Medical Association (IMA) Ludhiana celebrated ‘International Women’s Day’ at IMA house . Dr Manoj K Sobti, past state president IMA & member Punjab medical council also delivered a talk and emphasised upon gender equality. He said that the theme for this year’s International Women Day is “gender equity”. Equity means that the women should have equal share in all spheres of life. He further said that not only is it International Women’s Day, We should celebrate all day for the women. Dr Pritpal Singh, President IMA Ludhiana spoke regarding rights of women and the importance of Women s day..He also focused on the role of society, administration and IMA in spreading awareness about gender equality. Dr Saroj Aggarwal past president IMA ldh addressed about facilitating active participation of women in all avenues of life and working towards a world where all women can work, safely with their heads held high. Team IMA Ludhiana facilitated the senior female members of medical fraternity namely Dr Neena Chawla, Dr meenu Malhotra, Dr amrit kaur chawla, Dr apjinder Kaur, Dr Sunit goyal, Dr Pushpinder Kaur, Dr Harish Prabha kanish and congratulated all the members present there. Dr Karamveer Goyal addressed the audience and talked about the role of females in the society and about women empowerment.
Dr Rohit Rampal, Secretary IMA Ludhiana conducted the proceedings of the day and welcomed all Senior doctors and also talked about how the women are real architects of the society.
