DC instructs education dept to hold survey for building primary school on Tajpur road

Ludhiana (Deepak Sathi). Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney held a meeting on Monday to discuss the proposal for building a government primary school on Tajpur Road. She presided over a meeting with officials from the Education Department, Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana Improvement Trust, and others. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for the education department officials to conduct a survey to estimate the number of students, required number of classes, staff, laboratories, playgrounds, and other necessary facilities for the proposed school on Tajpur Road. She also directed the Public Works Department to revise their estimates and design for the school based on the fresh requirements provided by the education department. It was mentioned that an amount of Rs one crore had already been released to the Public Works Department, and they have also completed the construction of the boundary wall at the proposed school site. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Public Works Department officials to submit a report on the high-tension wires crossing near the proposed school site so that necessary action can be taken, including their possible removal after consultation with the PSPCL. Sawhney also asked the education officials to prepare a comprehensive report within the next 10 days and submit it to her office. She emphasized that a follow-up meeting would be scheduled after the education officials submit their report.
