The Department of Critical Care Medicine and the Department of Anesthesia at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H) organised a two day conference , centred around the theme of “Crisis Resource Management and Patient Safety.” The conference featured insightful sessions which focused on various critical emergency scenarios, including mass casualties, man-made disasters, fires, gas tragedies, gunshot wounds, industrial blasts, and many more. Esteemed speakers, drawing from their real-life experiences, shared valuable knowledge aimed at enhancing the audience’s understanding and proficiency in managing crisis situations. Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMC&H Managing Society, lauded the efforts of the organising team and wished the conference a success. The conference was also graced by Sh Gurpreet Singh, ACP, Special operations who shed light on mitigating man made disasters and disaster prevention in an industrial area like ludhiana. Dr. P.L. Gautam, Head of Critical Care Medicine at DMC&H, expressed his satisfaction with the event, stating, “Today’s conference brings together experts from across the country, offering their wealth of experience to enrich the knowledge base of others.” Dr. Suneet Kathuria, Head of the Department of Anesthesia, emphasised the crucial role of anesthesiologists in maintaining patient stability and reducing adverse events, particularly in high-stress situations. The conference will serve as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration, emphasising the importance of effective crisis resource management in ensuring patient safety and optimising outcomes in emergency situations.
