Teams seize 24000 kg Lahan in three villages alongside Sutlej, DEO Sakshi Sawhney assures a peaceful environment during elections

In a crackdown launched against illicit liquor mafia in ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the excise officials along with police conducted raids in Rajapur, Jadid and Bholewal villages alongside river Sutlej and seized 24000-kg of Lahan. A spokesman of the department said that a search operation was conducted on the Sutlej river banks by teams comprising excise inspectors Harjeet Singh, Harshpinder Singh, Gurdeep Singh and Bhupinder Singh along with excise police and supporting staff. The teams recovered 24000-kg lahan in 14 plastic tarpaulins near Villages Rajapur, Jadid and Bholewal. The seized Lahan was destroyed on the spot Meanwhile, the District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney reiterated her commitment of free, fair and transparent polls in Ludhiana as elaborate arrangements were put in place to ensure peaceful environment during the polls. She said that no stone would be left untuned to maintain law and order.
