Ludhiana (Rajkumar Sathi). The Central Trade Unions and Samyukt Kisan Morcha have appealed to the people to make Bharat Bandh on 16 February 2024 a success. The call for nationwide strike and bandh has been given jointly by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha and Trade Unions Sectoral Federations/ Associations against the pro corporate, anti people, anti farmer, anti worker, anti employee and anti small scale sector policies of the Modi government. The activists of AITUC, CITU and CTU distributed leaflets to highlight the issue among the people at the Mini Secretariat, Jagraon Bridge and Clock Tower Chowk. They strongly condemned the repressive action on the farmers at Shambhu border by the police. This has exposed the fascist outlook of the government. After having failed on all fronts, the government is now out to suppress the people who are want to peacefully raising their demands for jobs, livelihood, against price, health education and other genuine issues. Modi government is out to split the society on communal lines to garden votes. These acts of the government are against the constitutional provisions of our country. It is to raise the voice of the people that the SKM and the CTUs decided to have nationwide action on 16 February in the form of Bharat band and strike. Large number of people interacted with the activists while distributing the leaflets carrying banners. They expressed full solidarity and there was overwhelming response form the people. Today’s action at Ludhiana was led by Comrades D P Maur, Jagdish Chand, Joginder Ram, Chamkaur Singh, M S Bhatia and Balram.
