NGO Soch organizes cycle rally from PAU to AIPL

A cycle rally was organized under the title of “Ride for Clean Air” from Punjab Agricultural University to AIPL in collaboration with Ludhiana Paddlers Club under the 3rd Environment Conservation Fair-2024 was organized by NGO, Society for Conservation and Healing of Environment (SOCH). The rally was flagged off by NGO’s patron Sant Baba Gurmeet Singh ji and PAU’s estate officer Dr Rishi Inder Singh.  NGO President Dr. Balwinder Singh Lakhewali and secretary Dr. Brij Mohan Bhardwaj said that we have to save the environment for our future generations and with this objective, an environment protection fair is being organized with the help of different organizations.  He stressed that we can buy food items, but clean air cannot be bought. On this occasion, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Zone D Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon praised the efforts being made by the organization and assured full support from the Municipal Corporation.  He said that the Municipal Corporation is also running a campaign with the aim of promoting a clean environment.  He appealed to the people to be a part of this campaign. It is mentioned that after the cycle rally, on January 31, poster making and photography and poetry competitions will be organized by the NSS students of PAU under the theme of “Better Environment is the Only Way”.  Whereas on 3rd to 4th February an exhibition will be organized in Nehru Rose Garden.  The exhibition will start on February 3 at 10 am.

During this period, there will be science model competitions and cultural programs of schools and colleges, in which those who perform brilliantly will be honoured.  During this period, there will also be live workshops on clay jewelery and utensils, vermicompost, bonsai etc. The objective of this fair is to highlight various aspects of environment protection through exhibitions such as heritage tree planting, water conservation, soil conservation, organic home gardening, waste management, management and fertilisers, pollution free vehicles, air pollution reduction, noise pollution, environment friendly  Packaging, energy conservation, solar energy, healthy lifestyle products, coarse grains and human health etc. are to be promoted. Among others, Joint Secretary of NGO Soch Engr.  Amarjeet Singh, Dr. Manmeet Manav, Charandeep Singh, Rahul Kumar, Eng.  Parminder Singh Brar, Dr. Randeep Sidhu from Sidhu Herbals, Ludhiana Peddlers Club President Sarabjit Makkar, Vishal Ahluwalia, Ruble Amrit, Mohit Jain, Rishabh Jain, Jaideep Singh, Jaideep Singh, Kamaljot Kaur, Mrs. Sadhna, Harsh Bagga were also present.  Mrs. and Mr. Pankaj Makkar from Sunday Raider Ahmedgarh also specially participated.
